Briefly the use of /etc/inet/inetd.conf to specify services has been superseded by a set of service utilities. For further information please refer to the Solaris "System Administration Guide – Basic Administration" for details on setting up services on Solaris 10.
A work-around is available for installations of Reality V12. After Reality has been installed or the remote tape server has been installed su to root and enter the following command:
# inetconv
This command should be re-issued each time any additions are made to the inetd.conf file however note that it will not handle changes to existing service definitions nor the removal of service definitions.
