As Reality is built from a single source set all application level features are available across all supported host platforms. As Reality is in part a virtual operating system in its own right only the following can be supported and using other configurations could breach your contract to use Reality.
SPARC/Solaris from Sun Oracle
… for solutions built on open standards, Sun has been at the forefront of network computing for over 25 years with a history of innovation & leadership.
Reality FailSafe and Heartbeat(which is only available under SPARC/Solaris) provides the highest level of MultiValue and SQL-enabled database resilient technology…
AIX on pSeries (System p) from IBM … a more dynamic infrastructure is all about selecting the right systems and software to enable your business to move with agility and speed. Getting there means implementing proven solutions on a platform you can trust will still be around when it’s time for you to upgrade.
Linux platforms – based on the “fedora stream”.
… Red Hat is delivered via commercial subscription, so you pay for what’s most important to you. Service with Software that works.
… CentOS is an Enterprise-class Linux Distribution derived from sources freely provided to the public by a prominent North American Enterprise Linux vendor. CentOS conforms fully with the upstream vendors redistribution policy and aims to be 100% binary compatible.
Windows on Intel/AMD from Microsoft
… From laptops with one user to high-end servers with hundreds running on AMD or Intel chip sets.
Application Acceptance Testing
Reality is available for application use under the above Host Platforms. Like any database, resilient operating environment with programming languages it is the responsibility of the Application developer and implementers to undertake acceptance testing before live production use. This should be repeated for any significant changes or upgrades to the Application, Operating System and Hardware as well as Reality and any components provided by NEC Software Solutions. The level of acceptance testing depends on the importance to end customers for the Applications being deployed including features used, all user and data interfaces as well as acceptable levels of performance.
